Thanks Rex for the review. The P100 million Dinagat Island Road Network budget a year ago approved and released now became P22.1 million Tag-iho bridge done project.
Proof1- DPWH Caraga Regional Director Romeo Momo said an initial funding of P100 million was recently released to launch construction of the Dinagat Island Road Network which is seen critical in providing access between urban and rural areas in Dinagat Island. He said detailed engineering work is being done while its bidding process is set to take off before year end. Link1
Proof2- Mindanao Region is considered as the country’s food basket because of its large fertile land areas and evenly distributed tropical climate that makes it suitable for year round crop production. Of the 3 – billion pesos spent for 3000 kms of farm to market roads, 1000 km are earmarked for Mindanao as the government aims to further harness the competitive advantage in agribusiness of the region. Major infrastructure projects being prioritized are the: P210 million Dakak-Dapitan Road Project, the P100 million Dinagat Island Road Network, the P1.326 billion Sibuco-Siraway-Siocon-Baliguian-Gutalac Coastal Road in Zamboanga del Norte and the P6.52 billion Surigao-Davao Road Project. Proof3- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in her speech during her visit to Basilisa town to inaugurate the P22.1 million Tag-iho bridge emphasized infrastructure development in the newly created province of Dinagat Islands, "what you need here is infrastructure, importante ang usa ka imprastruktura alang sa bag-o nga probinsya (infrastructure is important for a new province)." And here's another coming sharky event...
The President immediately ordered Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane, Jr to begin the soonest possible time the construction of Basilisa-San Jose national road, "we have to build the road from Basilisa to San Jose." The project will cost P200 million.

sorry nico, medyo wala ko kasabot sa "sharky". palpak or good? good ba kay P22m lang ang nagamit or bad kay tulay lang ang nahimo?
pls put some true figures and documents for us to know. we would love to know the truth. kung nakuha lang sa newspapers without facts, ayaw nalang.
romeo-sanjose
what's so sharky with the project?
do you have documents to prove it for us to investigate?
I think this is an speculative. A question of curiosity, a theory rather based on figures and documents. We have no way of knowing what really is happening in the governmnt aside from what is in the news. If Tag-Iho bridge is a different appropriation then where is the 100 Million budget for the highway? Can anyone tell us? We know Tag-Iho bridge is a UK founded project.

our situation in the island is getting worst.the politicians thought they are providing good service to the people. i just hope we can graduate from one of the poorest province. the problem is, the leaders are used to seeing their people being poor. nothing new to them.
but the people in the island has no choice. its like " the devil and the deep blue sea".
if it's true that the bridge is UK funded project let's be vigilant. ingon ana man na sauna pa nga angkonon dajon. did you know that the dinagat island highway was first funded by US during the presence of the military bases? that was in the 70's. in the 80's another funding from the gov't. in the third time it was completed. imagine how much money wasted and stoled.
the health center in brgy albor in libjo is also foreign funded.
bombo
ebdane is a retired general. wa na joy lain nga daghan man banggiitan nga mga engineer? public works man kaha ni? tingale bayad ni ni arroyo kay usa man ni sa nakahimo nija na presidente ija pag-withdraw nan support ni erap. MGA DINAGATNON KON NAGSUNOD KAMO SA ASIAN SUMMIT SA CEBU, INVOLVE INI CJA SA MGA LAMP POST NA OVERPRICED KAY SIJA MAN AN SEC. NAN DPWH. AN IJA AMO NA SI ARROYO SIGURO KADUNGOG KAMO SA ZTE SCAM. YAY MAPILI. INDAY KON MAKATABANG BA INI SILA NA MAKA-GRADUATE KITA SA ATO STATUS NA "ONE OF THE POOREST PROVINCES". KON MASIKWATE GANI AN MGA MINILYON SA ATO PROBINSYA, USABON NATO AN NGAYAN FROM TAG-IHO TO TAG-BUAJA. KAY AN MGA SAAD GIKAN SA MGA BUAJA.
The same promises all over the country.
Infrastructure is badly needed not just bridges but electricity, trains, etc...
promises are just promises.
i just hope buhaton ang dapat buhaton ug di lang puro istorya pasikat pacute ug paporma ang ato presidente no?
ug hinaut na naa ta makita na kalambuan ani na project.
ang mga buaja nagbantay na sad for this.
bow!
dili lang presidente ang pa cute, mas pa cute ang sa local.
sakto ka nico, kinahanglan mahibaw-an sa katawhan ang kamatuoran. murag wa na ta kasabut ani da!
Nganong nganlan man sad nijo ug tag-iho, tag-buaja.. waya nabay lain nga ngayan. Sunod tag-umigas.. or tag-sawa :-)
ug wayay makit-an na resulta sa mga saad: TAG-KAWAT.
*****sorry guys, I never been in Libjo or Dinagat for almost 13 years now!!! correct me if I am wrong.... when I was there Basilisa (Rizal) is an Island!!! Was it changed now? If that BASILISA is the same BASILISA when I was there..... We don't need a road we need a bridge!!!
That may be make it more sharky!!!
Nope, the capital of Basilisa is transfered to the main Island not in Rizal (separate island) no more.
I have commented that post for P100 million road network and it seems that some or few are about to crucify me on that comment and insisted that it will be enough to complete 100 kilometer of road network.
How did it happen that a single bridge cost P22 million? As I said and again I've never been in Libjo or Dinagat for almost 13 years now but I am confident that the road from Basilisa to San Jose Is less than 100 kilometers and now costs P200 million. Wow... what a nice and unique engineering feat!!!!
